Indigo Smoke restaurant & bar
More Info

The signature deep blue and battleship grey of the original (2002-04) location for Indigo Smoke restaurant are reborn at our current Indigo. Funky and modern lighting fixtures highlight the deep brick red of the seating and the natural wood tables throughout our 3 dining spaces.

Up front you are met by our beautiful bar in dark cherry with inlaid copper panels, custom-designed and built by local antique specialist and furniture-maker Marty Gambichler. This area offers a view into the kitchen and floor-to-ceiling storefront glass doors that you’ll find open in summer; after dinner hours, this and the rectangular dining area become our lounge. When our live music periods are featured, the musicians set up in the waiting area space across from the bar. The wider dining room at the rear is also graced by a wall of windows.

Lance and Lee compiled the atmospheric sounds from personal collections reflecting life-long passions for jazz, funk, and soul music disciplines. Sink into the groove while sipping one of our specialty “concoctions” or while savoring a bite of “the heart of America ” ( Kansas City is so-called for being the mid-point between east and west coasts).

Award-winning artist Jason Hunt specializes in beautifully detailed graphite pieces. Adorning our walls are some of his portraits of music legends and simply poignant faces. All works are available for purchase, so feel free to inquire with a manager. Other favorite subjects for Jason include landscapes and animal subjects. Check out his website at www.huntarts.net
